Home Network Not Working

Guest

I have 3 computers that are all ethernet wired to a D-Link DI-524 wireless
router. All 3 computers have Microsoft XP for thir operating systems. All 3
computers can access the Internet with no problem. In the past I have set up
a home network with ease so that all 3 computers could "see" each other and
share files. But, over time the network has fallen apart. A good while ago,
all contacts with computer C were lost, so that the only communication lines
that existed were between computers A and B. Then computer A lost its
connection with computer B; however, at this time Computer B could still see
and access files from computer A. A few days ago this last remaining
connection was lost and now none of the computers can see each other.

I have made several unsuccessful attempts to run "set up a home or small
office network" from "My Network Places". For some reason unknown to me,
the computers can no longer "see" each other, let alone access each other's
files.

A D-Link's technical support person stated that it is not a router problem,
but rather a "configuration" problem.

I am at my wits-end trying to restablish the home network and would greatly
appreciate any help from the MS community to solve this problem.

Thank you.

Start by check all personal firewalls and other security components on each
computer, and the NetBT setting, and check diligently.

And ask yourself what changed during the recent past (how long a time span did
you discuss above, anyway?)?

Then look at logs from "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each
computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

I thank Chuck for sending me on a journey that eventually led me to "Network Magic.com", which I highly recommend. My network is now working just fine. deano77
