Win XP Home Edition - Default user w/ admin rights.
I am trying to set up a home network. First time through
the Network Wiz I selected the wrong Internet connection
options. Now, it will not connect. Re-running the Net.
Wiz. ends with window "Cannot complete Network Setup
Wiz. Config manually or change options."
Try to connect: get error "Renewing the IP address"
Help & Support Center Diagnostics:
Network adapters - FAILED
WAN Miniport (IP) (FAILED)
DefaultIPGateway = 68.210.106.45(Same Subnet) (FAILED)
(Ping info sent 4, received 0, 100% loss)
IPAddress = 68.210.106.45 (FAILED)
(Same ping results)
Default Gateways (FAILED) - same as above
IP Address (FAILED) - same as above
I took the network setup disk to the laptop and ran the
setup. At one point it did show the network, and itself,
but not the desktop.
The help info mentioned that the computer connecting to
the internet must have a specific address.
How can I remove the current configuration and try the
Wizard over to get new IP addresses set.
Is this a security problem? At one point I got a
diagnostic saying I was not authorized to change IP
addresses.
Thanks,
T
