Home Network can see host computer only

Hello. I have 2 home computers I want to network. When I run the Network
setup Wizzard I can only see the host computer on each machine. I need
help. I connect both computer through a gateway, using a router; no hub. I
have Windows XP on both computers. The newer one is a Media Center XP.

Jean,

Start please by ensuring that both computers can access the Internet. Once you
have connectivity on both computers, then continue.

One of the most common causes of your problem, if both computers have
connectivity (Internet access) but cant's access each other, would be a
misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall; but there are other possibilities
too.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
