Hitman for hire

H

Help

A few months ago I got spammed with an email that had either a subject
line or the top line in the body of the email that read "Hitman For
Hire". The email was regarding some type of computer software or maybe
a web hit counter etc. It may have been for a ainti-virus or
anti-spyware program...but definantly not an email for a real hitman
for humans! Either way, the fact that I opened this email and then
later did a google search on "hitman for hire" to try to find this
software, is now being used against me in court! If there is ANYONE
out there in cyber land that has seen this spam email or better yet has
a copy of it that you can email to me, I would really appreciate any
and all the info I can get on it! I wish I was joking, but I am very
serious! The court system has taken my kids based on this and other
bogus evidence like it!

I need any and all the help I can get in locating this email and or
software.

Please help!

Not sure if this is meant to be serious or not. Sounds suspicious to me. A
Google search on the phrase "hitman for hire virus"
turned up this URL at the top of the list.
http://www.craigslist.org/eby/cps/118552399.html

However, going to the site reveals:
" This posting has expired."

Drilling up reveals that this site is some sort of bulletin board for
computer services with no indication of

No other URLs turned up in the top few pages that relate the terms in the
way suggested by the OP.

Very mysterious. Somewhere in all this is the makings of a good suspense /
thriller story in the vein of Dial M for Murder, if I could just put my mind
to it.

A google search of "hitman virus email" brings up interesting results.
There seems to be some software called Hitman pro. Possible the original
email was spam selling this program.

the program starts some third party spyware scanners (ad-aware, spybot,...)
checks for updates and runs a scan. You could call it a batch-scanner.
Sorry i can't help you with your other problem.

If it's being used against you in a color of law tribunal (court) then
presumably they have all the information you need.

You can DEMAND a copy of the 'evidence' as a part of discovery.

STOP ! Hitman pro is an excellent freeware program. No spam, no nothing.

Please pull your head in and read my post properly. I did not criticise
the program, as I know nothing about it.

IF there were unsolicited emails promoting this software, they are
indeed spam.

My head is fine, my reading is fine, just pointing out that it's
freeware, no selling involved. But you suggested a connection based on
some bad googling. Any google search with the words 'virus' and 'email'
in it brings up interesting results.

True, but that's not the case.

Merry Christmas

And would you like to stifle religion even if the ideal is the same?
Would you like all religion to be the same? Deep down it is.
Shame on you.

As a Christian I wish you a Happy Christmas. And this is a very friendly
and human wish. It's at least better than most wishes for national
holidays, 4th or 14th July's etc. and all the blood they carry.

You don't find it a tad arrogant to force your faith on others?

As an agnostic curmudgeon, I dislike Xmas on several levels.
One of which is seeing messages like this on newsgroups neither
dedicated to religion nor populated by devotees to a particular
delusion.

Good Winter Solstice.

Tolerance means, accepting the other in his or her diversity as well as
accepting what you are, your identity (as the starting point). Tolerance
does not mean to reduce social or cultural life to smallest common
denominator.

Very well. I accept that you're a Christian and have the
urge/duty/delusion/sacred calling to spread the word. Can
you accept that there are posters here who have differing
views on religion, and may not feel that a message which
starts with "As a Christian..." has nothing to do with
discussions of free software?

The rules we all have to follow are in the book of law.
If you live in a modern country there are no religious laws left in the
book.

What some people call social inheritance, social culture, or religion,
is not backed up by official law. The reason is that the socially
transferable ideas are from the stone age, and we are trying to abolish
this culture.
