Hitman 1 and Hidden and Dangerous 1 won't work on XP

Hey,

My specs are:
Dell Dimension 8300
Pentium 4 3.0ghz
1024mb ram
128MB ATI Radeon 9800
DirectX 9 installed
Windows XP Home

Hitman won't work, and I've tried all compatability modes.

H&D (non-deluxe) runs really slow in normal, and crashes
on the menu in compatability mode.

I've applied the highest patches for both games,
reinstalled them on full, and messed with the Video and
Sound acceleration bars.

I don't think they're going to work at all, but can
anyone help at all? Does the free downloadable H&D Deluxe
work?

I know for a fact that Hitman 1 will not work directly in XP, with-out a
NOCD patch. It seems to be a problem with the copywrite scheme used.
