History folder empty - Days shown, but no sites

I posted this before. My history folder shows the days,
but no web sites I have visited are shown to allow me to
return to them. So far I have done the following:

1. Deleted IE6 and then reloaded it from MS download site.
2. Went into DOS and deleted all IE temporary files (This
required shutting off GOBACK, which would not allow me to
access the C: drive)
3. Changed the number of days history is supposed to keep
history down from 60 to 20.
4. Repeatedly emptied history files.
5. Went to IE Tools and restored defaults.

I do notice that when I select the History button and
change the view to "Sites most visited" I see a lot of the
sites I have been to. When I try to use that to return to
the site it is prefaces with my ISP address.
(ie. "marz.com@http://www.website.
I am at a total loss! Can anyone help?

Is McAfee in use? If so remove it.
