Histogram crashes excel

I'm using excel 2000 on windows xp home sp2. I used to be able to generate
histograms without issue but now excel stops responding when I try to run
one. I tried "repairing" ms office and that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Just discovered the problem: Excel doesn't like odd characters such as =, ^
etcetera in the worksheet name. The data was an xls download from yahoo
finance and the resulting worksheet came with quite a number of odd
characters in the name. This also messed up the graph wizard functions. All
I had to do was clean up the worksheet name and all was well.
