hijacked

Apparently I have been hijacked. I cannot access search
engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) and receive warning notices
that tell me that I've been hijacked. This warning
recommends that I edit my HOSTS file.

Is this recommended? What do I have to do to fix this?

I have run 3 different Spy-ware packages (trials) that
have not alleviated the problem.

Any suggestions?

DJ;
1, 2 and 3 are good. 3 will prevent hijackings. Visit these sites.
Download and install, run one or all. They are all good, FREE utilities. The

Sounds like you have the QHOSTS trojan. Do a google search or check Symantec
or Trend Micro's website for removal tools/instructions.
