Is there a way to hide the ribbon in Word 2007?

You can minimize it - click the arrow at the right end of the QAT (Quick
Access Toolbar)

Ctrl+F1 also works to toggle the ribbon on/off, as does double-clicking any
of the ribbon tabs, or right-clicking any of the tabs (to check/uncheck
Minimize the Ribbon).
