Hiding a email profile until credentials are given in Outlook 2007

I have a pc that has multiple email profiles. In Outlook 2007 when you are
prompted to select a profile if you select the secondary profile it loads the
email account in the background while the credential request is posted. If
you hit cancel if now have access to the profiles email. In Outlook 2003 you
had to provide the credentials prior to seeing anything.

Any assistance with this is much appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the behavior is the same in both versions.
Assuming that you are working with a POP3/IMAP account, is it possible that
you had your PST file password protected in the earlier version?

Not true. Outlook 2003's and Outlook 2007's behavior are identical when
working offline, which is what you're telling Outlook to do when cancelling
the credentials dialogue.
