Hide names at logon

S

Shane Nation

Using windows XP Pro.

I kbow tweakIU has a setting for this, but is there any other way on just
hiding a logon name (account) at the start logon screen. i.e a reg hack.

Tweak won't load on my XP for some reason.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes there is indeed a reg hack..

Go to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System].
Create new string value/modify the existing value - called
"DontDisplayLastUserName" and set it to "1" to enable or "0" to disable the
restriction.

Have you downloaded the correct version of Tweak UI?

TweakUI v2.00 for Windows XP
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

TweakUI v2.10 for Windows XP SP1 and above:

You may have the wrong version: if you have installed XP SP1
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe
