Hide everything else when using a data entry form?

We have a service request database that we want to use a single form to
enter new requests. We have it set to close out of the database when
the close / submit the request, but I'd LOVE to have it open with JUST
the form and not the remainder of the database windows. Is there any
easy way to pull that off? Thanks!

You most certainly can, and should hide all of the ms-access interface. The
options to complete hide and keep people out of the ms-access interface can
easily be done using the tools->start-up options. Using those options allows
you to complete hide the ms-access interface (tool bars, database window
etc). Also, using these options means you
do not have to bother setting up security.

Try downloading and running the 3rd example at my following web site that
shows a hidden ms-access interface, and NO CODE is required to do
this....but just some settings in the start-up.

Check out:

After you try the application, you can exit, and then re-load the
application, but hold down the shift key to by-pass the start-up options. If
want, you can even disable the shift key by pass. I have a sample mdb file
that will let you "set" the shift key bypass on any application you want.

Great info, Thanks!

I'm wondering with this in mind, if it would be a good idea to put the
entry form in a separate database and access data from (or I guess
enter data into) this database. That way I could set the settings your
recommended in THAT database, wan we wouldn't hamper the tech from
easily (without hitting shift) get into the database to view and close
'service requests' (since the service tech related forms would be in
the other database). I haven't had an occasion where I've had to do
that before, but I've heard it's pretty straight forward. Any thoughts
on that?

Thanks again!
