You don't want a hidden paragraph; you want a hidden paragraph *mark.*
Display nonprinting characters (Ctrl+* or click the Show/Hide ¶ button on
the Standard toolbar), select the paragraph mark (¶), and format it as
Hidden (Ctrl+Shift+H or Format | Font: Hidden).

sentances appear on the same line (i.e., the text in the second paragraph
