hidden files

i have followed every direction possible to get my hidden files to show up on
my computer and they do...until i close the folder. once i close the folder
the folder options return to "do not show hidden files and folders" and the
box, "hide protected operating system files" also gets checked again!
this is so frustrating!
HELP!

Open Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View tab
Scroll down to and click Show Hidden Files.
Click Apply and OK. By Default, Windows will only display
400 folders in this format. If you want greater access, click here:
Folders View (increase from 400 to 8000)
