helpsvc.exe Activity

My PC running Windows XP Home edition seemed to slow down for a few minutes,
and I could hear a lot of activity on the hard drive. I looked at the
activity to see what might be causing it. The process "helpsvc.exe" was
varying between 55 and 99% while the hard drive activity was going on. Then,
it dropped of to zero percent, and the slow down was gone. What does this
process called "helpsvc.exe do? Can anyone tell me what starts it? Thanks
for any help you can give me. Charles Ranheim
