Hi,

I am trying to use the Outlook Task functionality to send a task to another
person that also uses Outlook.

When I create the task in my Outlook....I do the following

Logged on as Scott

- Create a basic task request
- Include the email address "(e-mail address removed)"
- Send the task from "(e-mail address removed)"

....the email is sent to the email address "(e-mail address removed)"

I then logon as the Test user and access Outlook setp for the user

- the Task request is received
- but the Task cannot be selected and is not included to the Test user
Outlook tasks.

Am I missing something...I would have expected this to populate the task
into the users Task lists...

If the receiving email address is not the same as the user name does that
cause a problem for acccepting it to the Outlook tasks ?

Any help appreciated ?

I don't quite understand your explanation. Here's mine:

Boss "Susan" makes a new Task and uses the Assign Task button. In the To..
field they put the name of the new Owner ("Greg" who'll do the Task). They
Send it.

The Task Request goes to Greg's Inbox. It says "Task Resuest: bla bla bla"
in the Subject line. Greg opens it and clicks the Accept button. The email
dissapears and the Task is now in Greg's Tasks folder.

Susan will get a Task Acceptance: bla bla bla email (if she left the button
checked "Keep an upated copy of assigned tasks on my tasklist".

A few questions for you:

1.Exactly which bit doesn't wok for you?
2. What version of Outlook? Fully patched?
3. What message store are you using?

Judy,

Based on your explaination the step where Greg opens and clicks the Accept
button is not working when the Task item is received in Greg's email box.

So everything works fine until I attempt to open the Task once it arrives in
Greg's email box. It just does open after clicking on the item ??

I am using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP2

I hope that explains the problem more clearly

Thanks
Scott
