Help with repair please

Just got a new mobo, processor, memory and case for a work computer. When I
tried to start up got a Stop error. After some research I found I should
repair the installation. I also called tech support from where I got the
computer. While waiting I started to try to run the repair but didn't know
what option to pick so I cancelled out. Once I got the tech guy he said to do
what I did, start with 2000 disc with Boot from CD option, pick install (not
repair) then when it found the old installation to pick repair from there.
Great, I thought, solution found. Restarted the computer and now I cannot get
it to boot from the CD, no matter what I do. I have the bios set to Floppy,
CD, Hard drive but everytime it doesn't boot from the CD and tries to start
window but I get Stop Error again. Ack!
How do I get back to the installation screen to repair the disk so I can get
it working? Appreciate any and all help.

If it started before, it sounds like you have simply ignored the prompt to press
any key to start the setup program. If you don't press a key in the time
allotted, it tries to boot from the HDD.

I wish it was that simple. I've pressed keys so many times that my fingers
are numb. Seriously, I have not ignored the prompt. I have tried to press it
the second I see 'boot from CD', I've tried second guessing and pushing it
just before it says it, I've tried pushing very, very quickly and many, many
times and still it won't boot from the CD. Getting very frustrated. :-(

You're actually posting in the wrong group: You are dealing with
a hardware problem, not with a Win2000 problem.

Anyway, since you have just replaced your motherboard, you
probably failed to connect the CD drive correctly. Does the
BIOS detect it during the boot phase?

Boot the machine with a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com.
Can you access the files on your Win2000 CD? If you can't then
you need to do something about your CD drive.

That is strange. You could try the long way....create the four setup discs (this
method was intended for use on systems that couldn't boot from a CD-ROM drive).
The last step in disc #4 will ask you to insert the Windows 2000 CD...and off
you go!

You can create these discs from the Win2K CD using any system (See this MSKB
article for details),
or you can download the image files from http://www.bootdisk.com/ :
