Help with Pop-ups

Windows XP pop-up blocker was working pretty good until the other day when I
deleted all temp files (not the cookies). Pop-up blocker is turned on and I
have 5 or 6 sites listed in the settings screen for pop-ups that I need.
Now, I'm getting gazillions of pop-ups from every single web page I visit
(2, 3 or 4 at a time). The blocker does not seem to be working hardly at
all. Whereas before I was constantly getting the click sound indicating
that a pop-up was blocked and the information line inquiring if I want to
see the pop-up, now that only happens occasionally. Is there anything I can
do? It's driving me nuts! Thanks.

Thanks.........I downloaded the antispy software and it appears to be
working. However, the link you gave me appears to be invalid as I had to
search for the site. Apparently, MSFT just the other day updated the
software and it's presently in beta form.
