help on new build

would like some tips on what i should get towards building my new system..

so far i have a

evga nforce 790sli FTW digital PWM

and i plan on getting(unless of coarse someone has a better plan)

Q9550 core 2 quad

and adding a Zalman CNPS9700 NT as my cpu cooler

and thats about all i've thought about

what kind of ram would you recommend and how big of a power supply would i need to drive this thing.

the video card is a whole other headache ,leaning towards the nvidia nforce gtx 260 the 285 is $150 bucks more..is it worth it?

this motherboard is supposed to be great for overclocking...i'll probably try my hand at that..so overclockability of the components i put on this thing should be a consideration.


any help with this would be appreciated.

What is your budget for the rest of the parts ?

There are probably better coolers than the Zalman available, though they do make good stuff.

i'm looking at about 1200 canadian dollars for the rest of the build(about 650 GBP)

thermalright 120 ultra
4 gigs platinum ocz memory
corsair 1000 watt power supply
nvidia gtx 285 video card

all tucked into a haf932 case
