Help with hyperTerminal-can is use usb

Can I change the connection from a com port to a USB
instead I am transfering photo to iden (nextel) phone via
hyperTerminal and have a USB data cable instead of a
serial cable connection.

Hi, Connie -

I'm afraid it's not possible to configure hyperterminal
to talk through a USB port without a third-party
application.

Some hardware devices like GPS receivers come with a
driver that can be used to remap a USB port to a COM port
but after a brief search I couldn't find a standalone
application to do it. That doesn't mean one doesn't
exist, it just means I couldn't find one in a ten-minute
web search. Maybe someone else knows of an application
that'll do the trick.
