Help With Frustrating Display Problem

Scrolling through Word documents, I find that the text becomes corrupted.
It looks as if lines were typed twice--sometimes on top of the following
lines.
Adjusting the window size ever so slightly clears it up. Until the next
time.
I've reinstalled Word.
Updated display drivers (Nvidia Ge Force FX 5200).
Adjusted hardware acceleration rates and monitor refresh rates.
Tried different screen resolutions.
Nothing has helped. What do I try next?

Try wordwrap.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this. What is wordwrap and how does one
"try" it?

I had tried searching both of these sites, read a lot of articles, but could
never find one that addressed my particular problem.
Again, there is no actual corruption of the text. It will print fine. It is
only the "display" in which lines get crunched together.
It happens when I scroll up or down. As if the display can't keep up with
the page changes.
