Is IIS Installed?

Are you an admin on the box?

This is somewhat of a long shot, but make sure Windows authentication is
enabled for your content Web sites *and* for the administrative serrver.

I got everything to work. I had to uninstall the application server and then
reinstall it.

Now I can't seem to get the premissions set right for the advanced author on
a sub web.

server error: The folder"/......" is marked executable. You are not allowed
to put files into an executable folder on this server.

What folder is it?

Is that folder marked Execute Permissions: Scripts Only or Scripts and
Executables in IIS Manager?

On the Set Installation Defaults admin page, is Allow Authors To Upload
Executables checked?

And are you sure you want Advanced Authors uploading exe's and dll's?
