Help with ERD

H

HorstH

OS W2K Advanced Server with SP4.

NTLDR went missing somehow.

Used an ERD to aid in the recovery.
After system restored tried, to make a new ERD and got the
following message:
"disk file not found or inaccessible".
Reapplied SP4.
There is nothing in the repair directory and there is no
setup.log file on the system partition.
Any suggestion?

Hi Horst,
I'm not really clear on where you are with the problem right now.

If you're still unable to boot, and getting "ntldr missing" errors, try
creating a Windows 2000 boot disk (on another 2K machine, format a floppy,
then copy boot.ini, ntdetect.com, and ntldr to the floppy) and booting from
it.

If you're receiving that error when attempting to create a new ERD, sounds
like you're using a bad floppy disk.

TX for yours.

I have restored the OS and everything is functioning OK.

However, when attempting to make a new ERD (emergency
repair diskette: - I get "disk file not found or
inaccessible".

When I search for the Setup.log file is does not exist on
any of my 5 drives, (2 HDD).

So the result is: I can not make an ERD.
