Help with a reload Problem with XP

After reformatting and reloading XP on my HD right after the reboot of loading my computer started to go "preparing for standy" then shuts down. When moving the mouse awakens it and reopen XP it will go back to the last item that I was on and seems to be running that program. Is there some setting that needs to be changed or is there a VIRUS causing this. Have used Norton and found nothing. Can someone help me with this annoying problem
Thanks

Simple, just need to change power settings.

Right click your desktop>properties> Display properties should come up, then
select Screen saver>Power (under monitor power)> Once there you can change
your system stand by to never and/or adjust power options to best suit your
needs.

Hope this helps.

Hugo.

Checked this out and it was already in the Never mode. It seems that my problem is most prevelant while using the newest version of Internet Explorer and MSN messenger. Is there a bug in them that needs a patch. This is driving me crazy
