help with a 16 bit application (corel draw 5.0) on win 2000

Hope someone can help.

I have used corel draw 5.0 (16 bit) faithfully for years now on a
computer running win2000. Lately it was acting a little strange so I
decided to delete it and re-install. Before re-installing, I used a
program called tune up utilities to clean and defrag the registry.
However when I try to reintall I get to the point where its at 100% and

the operating system (I guess) is completing the registration when I
get a general protection fault error which causes the install to halt.

Message says: Corinstall has called a general protection fault at
module ###### (can't remember the numbers here).

Can anyone suggest something here I could try to get around this issue?

I really need to get this program working again.

Suggestion: This is an older program. Perhaps "application compatibility"
will help getting it installed and possibly getting it to run.

For installing: Create a shortcut to the executable for the installer.
Right click on the shortcut and select Properties. On the "Compatibility"
tab, click the box "Run this program in compatibility mode" and then select
an appropriate operating system from the drop down list.

NOTE: Compatibility option is actually targeted at running the actual
programs but many times it has helped with install issues as well.

For running the program: After the program is installed, if you notice
"funny" behavior again, repeat the steps to apply compatability settings
but this time use the shortcut for the program.
