Help with 2 Pocket PC users syncing to one PC with Outlook 2003

Hi all,

I have my PPC all set up and sync with Outlook 2003. My wife is now in
the process of having me transfer all of her data oof of her Palm 505
to an iPAQ. She has been syncing to the Palm Desktop, but now I'm
thinking that I'm going to have to uninstall Palm Desktop and have her
Sync into Outllok on the same computer so that I can get all of her
Palm data onto her iPAQ.

The problem is that I don't want her data to mix in with mine when I
sync her Palm and I want to be able to have her Sync to Outlook (The
same Outlook on the same PC) with her own information in the future
and I sync my own information when I sync. I know that I will have
different Partnerships in Active Sync for both iPAQs, but how can I
keep the ino separate in Outlook and specify which information goes to
which device upon syncing?

Thanks to all who are kind enough to offer help.
Thanks in advance!!!
Regards,
Steve B.

Sounds like a plan.

You should use separate Mail profiles for this and have ActiveSync (and
Outlook) ask which profile to use when it starts. You can then keep your
data and hers completely separate.

Brain,
thanks for the response. I was fearing that this was going to be a
difficult project. Could you please point me in the right area as to
where these settings are within Outlook (separate mail profile
settings) and ActiveSync (Prompt for which mail profile)? Thanks

Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles->New. Create a mail profile for
your wife there. Point it to the .pst file that you will create when you
move the information from Palm Desktop to Outlook. Name it with a distinct
name. In the same dialog as the Show Profiles, check the button to Prompt
for Profile.

Both settings are in the same place: Control Panel>User Accounts>Mail>Show
Profiles

I've got the exact same situation at my household. I have set up a second
profile in outlook and set the default to ask which profile to use when
launching Outlook. However, how does ActiveSync 'know' which Outlook profile
to sync with? There was mention in this thread that there was a 'ask which
profile to use' for both Outlook AND Activesync. How do I set this 0ption up
in ACtivesync, I can't seem to locate it.

Thanks

If no profile is active when you cradle your PDA, you'll be asked. If
Outlook is open, then whatever profile that is will be used.
