HELP!!!! What is this service?

I have a laptop that has Win 2K SP4 and Office XP installed. While trying to
debug a problem we are having with the registry we noticed that there is an
executable called RPCNET.exe running. This exe shows as a service "Remote
Procedure Call (RPC) Net". We are trying to determine where this file came
from. We have searched other machines and have not seen this file.

Does anyone know what RPCNET.EXE is or where it comes from?

Locate where that file is stored. Check file's properties. With good luck
the file has version information and that could tell you something.
