HELP! There's an Unidentified Device on my Device Manager!

My brother gave me his old IBM ThinkPad 570e Notebook computer with
UltraBase.Unfortunately the manuals and system discs that came with it
originally are missing. After some time running Windows 98, it became
unusually slow, so I changed to Windows XP professional.
But in the "Device Manager" there is an Unknown Device. When I change views
in the device manager to "View by connection" the unknown device is linked
to "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System".I have no idea what this unknown
device is nor do I have a clue how I go about finding out-Any help would be
appreciated.
Alan.

Thats the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface.
The PC probably does not support it or maybe it's switched off in the BIOS.

( That's quite a cross-post !!!!! A quick Google would have got your
answer )

It's some kind of power saving/ACPI thingy. No idea what it does, it's
been Unknow Device'd since day 1 when I got mine, been that way since
I wiped XP and put 2K on it since day 1 for more than a year now.

L.Angel: I'm looking for web design work.
If you need basic to med complexity webpages at affordable rates, email me :)
Standard HTML, SHTML, MySQL + PHP or ASP, Javascript.
If you really want, FrontPage & DreamWeaver too.
But keep in mind you pay extra bandwidth for their bloated code
