help sidebar using 70% cpu

Windows Vista Sidebar doesn't display on my desktop and is eating between
50-75% of my cpu. I can't find a way to uninstall it or reinstall it. Does
anyone have any ideas on what I can do?? Thanks.

try running msconfig from the start menu run command. go to startup and make
sure there are no entries that point to windows sidebar. If you don’t see
any entries in this list, then just to make sure, run the sidebar and then
right click the tray icon, and select properties, and deselect "Start
sidebar when windows starts." hope this helps,

It actually looks like Sidebar is trying to run 50+ copies of Calendar. I
can't tell how many there are because it locks up before I can scroll down to
the bottom. Does anyone know if there is a way to edit the list of gadgets
to run outside of doing it thru the properties? ie. a bat file or xml file?

I tried to do it thru properties, but it stops responding and I have to kill
it thru Task Manager. For now, I've de-selected the run on startup option to
avoid Sidebar all together.
