Help! Server does not register with DNS

New Windows 2003 server install. It is the domain controller. Exchange and
active directory installed. Server didn't register correctly with DNS. I
don't know how to fix this. Machines can't find the domain to join. Event log
says its not registered correctly, but I can't see what is wrong. Where do I
go from here?

Post an ipconfig /all from the server.

I'd expect to see a DNS suffix in there and suspect this is part of the
problem - might want to post in m.p.windows.server.dns.

When you promoted your server to a domain controller and installed DNS, did
you tell DNS the name of your domain?

THe only other solution I can think of is to demote the DC, remove DNS and
try promoting it again.
