Help screen pop-ups

Help screens pop up in several W XP programs: IE,
Publisher & Word. It's especially annoying in Word,
because it shifts your type written page to accomodate
the help drop down list or task pane and does not reset
to the original position when you hide the Help screen or
task pane.

Does anyone know how to disable the Help screens from
popping up?!!!

Hi Bob,

Stop hitting F1?

Seriously, help screens don't pop up unless you invoke them. Most of the
ones that autostart to "help" you (sort of like clippy used to) have options
to disable them, check the program's "help" files for proper steps.

Key word "most"! I,ve checked th Help options is each

program and have yet to find any reference to disabing
help.I,ve looked under View, Options, Tools, searched the
index and glossary. I Word there is a box under View to
check or uncheck Task Pane.
Help pops up automatically with just a slight hesitation
of your mouse.
A real pain in the a..! in Word.
