Hi,

I am not sure what has happened but the following message appears when
turning on my comp:

Quote:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:

1) Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer
2) Choose your language settings and then click Next
3) Click 'Repair your Computer'.

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer
manufacturer for assistance.

File: \windows\system32\windload.exe

Status: 0xc000000e

Info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is
missing or corrupt.

----------------------

I have the disk but how do i boot from it? I am very worried i've broken my
comp for good.

Thanks in advance and i really hope someone can help me!!

Reboot your computer.
Press Delete* key during startup to get into BIOS setup. *usually the
Delete key
Find the entry for boot sequence and change the number one slot to CDROM.
Press F10 or Exit and Save.
Put your installation disc in the CDROM and reboot.

Follow instructions to Repair from display.
When done change settings back to boot from HDD.

The delete key doesn't work when restarting the laptop. It still goes to the
boot page.

I'm starting to panic as nothing appears to be working.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

Hit <escape> when the system initially starts to see the screen messages
rather than the manufacturer splash screen. Look for a line that indicates a
key to hit to 'enter setup'. Hit this key to enter the BIOS.

Read your system documentation... some computers have "Boot Menus" that will
allow one to select which device to boot from without having to go into the
BIOS and change it.

For example: on some Dell's, hitting F12 during POST will bring up a boot
menu.
