Help on windows 2000?

I have 2 separate issues. The background on my story is
this - a have a corporate computer. Yesterday it was "re-
imaged" (the corporate package reloaded and user settings
re-establihed, I guess) due to a disruptive file problem.
This is actually the second time the computer has been
reimaged in the last 9-10 months.

The first problem has to do with my favorites folder.
Until yesterday, the folder's default operation was to
sort the favorites alphabetically (for the favorites that
were "reloaded") with subsequent additions added to the
end of the list in temporal order and with the most
frequently visited favorites seen on the initial view when
I hit the favorites button (I could then expand that view
to see my complete listing). Now when I click on the
favorites button I see the complete alphabetized listing
directly and must scroll to the desired selection AND the
view stays whereever I just scrolled instead of reverting
to the beginning of the list when I click favorites the
next time. I want the most frequently selected favorites
to appear as they had been, without having to resort to
more folders within my favorites. I have not found what I
needed in the help function does anyone have suggestions?

The second item has to do with the computer mysteriously
powering off the network and the generic default windows
screen saver being on, as opposed to my screen saver or
even the corporate one. This happened last fall (the
first time the systm was re-imaged, though I didn't make
that connection then) and no one could explain or help. I
tried various powering schemes to bypass this new default
then, which seemed to have no effect. Then the problem
mysteriously disappeared. Again last night, after being re-
imaged the problem has returned. I don't expect my IS
department to have any useful info giving the bigger
issues they have to contend with. Does anyone have
suggestions/thoughts about what could be going on with my
system? This appears to be unique to my system...

* Right-click anywhere in the expanded favorites list and choose "Sort by
name" then IE|Tools|Internet Options|Advanced and check the box for "Enable
Personalized Favorites Menu" then be patient as it takes several days for
this to appear to start working.

Thanks, I'll give your advice a try. As for "mysteriously
powering off", I'll try to clarify. Ordinarily, I leave
my computer on and connected to the corporate network all
the time. I seldom ever log off, other than when I need
to reboot. So when the computer is not in use, my
personalized screen saver is activated. Right now,
something is causing me to be disconnected from the server
in the middle of the night. If I were to intentionally
logoff, the corporate screen saver would be activated and
then I would press ctrl+alt+del to log back on. This
morning the default windows screen saver was on. I think
I would expect to see this if the computer were turned on
and not connected to the server...it wouldn't have
awareness of the other screen saver settings. When there
is no mystery, or tampering, or power flucuations I should
be seeing my settings at work in the morning. Thoughts?

Still unclear. Do you leave in last state, or lock the workstation? Normally
the screen saver file needs to be local (as defined in HKCU\Control
Panel\Desktop\SCRNSAVE.EXE) since the network connection can not always be
guaranteed when the screen saver comes on hence the result would be
unpredictable. Also note that the default timeout is 15 minutes for any
network resource which also may play into this.
