I'm using system.web.mail component to send out emails from one of my hosted
ASP.NET appl. But I only able to send to recipients in my domain only.

Why is that? How to correct this?

thanks,
andy

You ISP probably requires SMTP Authentication or some such setting to ensure
your email account doesn't get used by spammers. You'll want to check with
them to find out their exact restrictions.

Thanks Steve,

So, it's got nothing to do with my asp.net code or .net framework itself and
have my ISP to enable it on their server?
Should my ISP can't help me with it, what other options do I have, since
using xp_sendmail won't work too.

Actually, I used it in my appl member/user registration page. Only to verify
that they enter a valid email account on registering. Much like an
activation process.
Any other idea/suggestion for it, should my ISP decline my request?

I'll appreciate any comments.

thks & brgds,
andy
