Hi guys I'm very new to Excel & I've been tasked at work wit
creating some tracking documents. I've got to grips with most of th
basic stuff but have been pulling my hair out with the last bit of th
document. I'm hoping somebody on here can help me out

Ok I've got a spreadsheet set out to track Store detective
performance and it's laid out as follow
........A..................E........................F............................G..............................H..........
2...Name........Incidents.........Hours Worked.....Hours pe
incident.............Light.........
3...
Bloggs.........3.......................30..............................10.......................Green........

I'm having trouble with the last field (Light) basically I need
formula that will put the corresponding colour into the fiel
dependant on how many hours per incident. I want it to show a
follows

21+ hours = Re
15-20 hours = Ambe
8-14 hours = Gree
7- hours = Blu

I'm presuming it will need a =IF(G3..... type formula but I'm jus
stuck completely with it. If anyone can help me I'll be eternall
grateful

Thanks in advanc

Hi!

You can use conditional formatting for up to 3 conditions.
You have 4 in your example. Your options are to use VBA
code for this in which case you'll have to wait for
someone else to help or use one of your set colors as the
default and that leaves 3 for the other conditions.

For example, set the default color as Blue.
Then goto Format>Conditional Formatting.

Conditon 1
Select Cell Value Is Between
In the first box enter 8
In the other box enter 14
Click the Format button and select the styles you want
Then click the Add button and repeat the process for the
other conditions.
