HELP ME PLEASE

T

Tonight I had just finished a 12 page paper that I spent many, many hours
writing. Suddenly a message popped up that said it had lost the connection
with my flash drive (where my paper was saved) and it was saving and closing
my document. All of a sudden my work was gone. It's not on my flash, and it's
not on my computer. The only remnant of my hours of work is a shortcut in the
autorecover folder. I downloaded a flash recovery program-- nothing. Is there
anything that I can do? I would be eternally grateful for any suggestions.

Never open a file on removable media. Never save a file directly to
removable media. Unfortunately this advice seems to be too late. If you
don't have a back up somewhere, it's gone.

You've just learned an expensive lesson. Never work on a file on a removable
drive. Don't open Word documents directly from one or save directly to one.
Always open from and save on the HD, then copy to/from the removable drive.
