Help Me Please.........Some1

Im not sure if this is in the right topic, but heres my problem...

I use Windows XP Home Edition......prosesor 2.6.......it has 224MB of ram and about 30GB of free disk space...... everything works fine ,,,,,untill the prosesor starts to run 100%% and with in a minute the computer turns off...... .... i can not play music for long.... or watch anything....... the computer keeps truning offf.... i dont no wot to do .... i'm not a computer wizz...... if i'm in the middle of writing something or doing something important........ and the computer turns off then all the is lost ,,,,,, ......CAN SOME ONE HELP ME......

Open your computer case and see if it is full of dust. If it is clean it out and check and see if all the fans are running.

Go to System Properties / Advance Tab / Startup and Recovery / uncheck auto
restart. This should bring you to a screen when your computer crashes which
will display a stop error message. Copy message in it's entirety and post
back on this thread with complete message. Jym

i dont no if it make any difference or not ... but i have a lap top .....

ok..i have just done wot u have suggested and now waiting for tha machine to turn offffff......... i have checked the processes in the ...Windows Task Manager... and every time b4 the turn off.... the processes..( iexplor.exe ) runs the CPU at 100% ....and it get stuck there even thou there is nothing running......

WELL....... THE MACHINE JUST DIE ON ME AGAIN,,,,, AND THERE WERE NOO ERROR MESSAGES....IT JUST TURNS OF........ALMOST ANY PROGRAM THAT I RUN....MAKES THE CPU RUN AT 100%.....AND IF I DONT SHUT DOWN THE PROGRAM ,,,THE COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN IT SELF......

COULD IT BE A RAM PROBLEM????????

I'm not much with notebooks , but sound like a overheating problem. Try to
elevate the notebook and put a fan directly on it . If this proves helpful
or not , you might start looking for a notebook repairman. I do not think it
is the operating system. .... Sorry . Jym ps - Upper and lower case will
suffice most nicely , all caps are thought of as screaming.

oooo sorry about that ,,,i'm new here.....anyway thanks for the help... i'll try to cool the machine with an extra fan.....if that dont work then i'll look for a rapair shop....... but thanks again.

thank you ......oneheli...&.....jym......the notebook is fine now...i opened it up and found that the there was alot of dust in the air out take.... so the problem was over heating.........thank you once again... :))
