HELP: lost HD partition woes...

A

Andrew Wan

I have a USB portable HD. I was running a chkdsk command on it. I forgot
that I was running it and I shutdown my PC.

Next time I boot up and plug my USB portable HD to my PC, it asks to format
my USB HD. Has the partition tables been corrupted? How can I rescue my
portable HD partition again??? Please help!

possibly the ntfs crashed.

but certainly i avoid any
(any) attempt to write files
to it or format it.

see if the trial version of
"acronis disk director" can
scan it and reveal the contents
from your main hd

if so, then the software can
repair it the file system on
that hd.
