Help!! looking to upgrade my 7990

HI everyone, I have a compaq 7990 with a k7 800 athlon, 512 ram. I'm
looking to upgrade the computer but dont know where to look for parts
that will be compatible with this system. I was told that there are no
chips that will drop in place of the 800, as it is a "Slot A" I beleive.
now does that mean I have to do a major change to upgrade? If so can any
of you give me advice n what part will work?

You would need a new motherboard, CPU and memory. All of yours are out of
date and not used anymore in modern machines.
