i just installed windows xp the other day its it worked
fine. i could log on to my desktop and everything worked.
to day i go to get on my computer i boot it up and instead
of logging me on i get a LOG ON TO WINDOWS SCREEN ASKING
FOR USERNAME AND PASSWORD. i hit ok it logs me on then
logs off and takes me back to the log on to windows
screen. is there anyway to bypass this or is there a
backup username and password to use? i have tried
different ideas and nothing works.

thanks Lee

I've seen such behavior when Windows XP security services files (or
registry) got corrupted. If that is the problem that you are facing (it is
not necessary that that is the case, but it very well could be especially if
you added / replaced hardware (especially harddrives)), it is hard to fix.

If you don't have any files to loose on your machine, I'd recommend
reinstalling windows.
