help laptop monitor broken

my laptop monitoris broken, i can get my pc monitor to work with it in safe
mode but soon as i boot up normally it goes to my broken laptop monitor is
there a way to bypass it and just use my pc monitor have tried in display but
it will only let me change settings not add new monitor(or even use
second),would appreciate any help its driving me nuts

Go into the Bios and set it for external display

press the FN + F8 key(or what ever key combo it is for your laptop) to
toggle on the external port.
