Help! Install never completes for some apps.

Ive been trying to install ASUS PCprobe in Win2000. When I attempt to install I see In task manager NTVDM.exe, setup , and wowexec.exe, but the install never completes. I assume that this is a 16-bit app and I want to know if there is a way to fix this problem. I can run command.com and edit.com so i know ntvdm and wowexec are functioning correctly. Also, I printed the subtree for system\currentcontrolset\control\wow and compared the dlls w/ my system32 directory. I noticed I was missing rasapi16.dll and mapi.dll ( not sure if this is relevant for this installation). Ive researched and Im stumped. Any help or advice would be appreciated

Sincerely

What version of Asus Probe are you trying to install? The latest version
was 2.21.09. Do you have an Asus board or are you trying to install it on
another make motherboard? It always worked well on our Asus board with W2K
but we prefer Motherboard Monitor. Also, with Asus PC Probe you have to
uninstall previous versions in most cases or you can get errors.
