HELP ! HP 6300c ;(((

Hi,

First time on this one, I don't even know is it a proper place to ask for
help.

I need some advice with scanjet 6300c. I installed it with this fancy
precisionscan by HP downloaded from fp.com. It is working very badly. Only
preview scan is done correctly and smoothly (but warming up the lamp tooks
very long), processing to.../save scan can't start, scanners locks and there
is often a popup with "sorry, scanner could not be initialized.(An error has
occured communicating with the scanner)."
I digged in HPs troubleshooting stuff on HP.com but couldn't find proper
solve.
I reinstalled USB, reinstalled precisionscan, reinstalled scanners driver...
It looks for me as it is a fail in this TWAIN precisionscan, maybe it is
possible to acquire another for this kind of scanner.
Please help...

It is often a badly installed driver. Connect the scanner. From
scanners and cameras remove the scanner. From Add/Remove Programs
remove the software and any TWAIN installed. Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the scanner. With the scanner disconnected, install the
software/driver again, connecting the scanner only when asked by the
installer, or after the installation is complete. Then connect the
scanner, point the hardware installer to the correct driver. Try the
scanner again. If this does not work, then the scanner might have
failed.
