Help getting SimCity 3000 to install and Sim Them Park

I know that XP is real quarky with older games but I am finding more and
more that wont even go through installation even when I use the
Compatability wizard. I recently bought Sim Theme park and Simcity 3000 but
have gotten neither one to go through the installation process even by using
the run command and selecting every Executable file I could find. I managed
to find the ini file in SimCity3000 last night and it let me play the game
from the CD (Yeah I couldnt believe it worked either) but of course you cant
save anything that way. I have been to the company sites with no help and a
guy's site that had a fix for Sim Theme but it was a patch for getting the
game to work after you loaded it. I cant seem to get older games to load at
all. There has to be some answer for this problem.

Are you getting any error messages?

I do seem to remember once upon a time someone mentioning that Sim City 3000
will only install onto a C: drive. I've only got C: on this machine so
can't test that or not.

If it plays off the CD you could be a bit cheeky and try copying the CD
straight to your HDD.

For Theme Park try checking this site out:

I will try that with the Sim3000 as for the patch on that web page for Sim
Theme Park if you cant get it to run through install the patch is no good
you have to install the game first. Using Compatibility wizard isnt helping
because the the menu that gives you the option to install loads but, when
you select install the program does nothing. If I can figure out which file
does the actual install I would try to get Compatibility Wizard to run on
that file but, I have no idea which file that is that does the actual
installation.
