Hello, I am posting this message and file, asking for help to get this
program running again. File includes source code and final release
installer.
The program is an Internet Explorer based scripting program that
tracks dynamic URLs of files within Yahoo Groups, MSN Groups, and
thumbnail Gallery Post sites. It is the neatest and cleanest Yahoo
Groups Downloader ever known.
The author abandoned the program due to some sort of crisis, and
cannot update the program anymore. However, he left the source code
for anyone to take over the program. It has been uploaded to its
earlier sister site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/clubtrawler
The current state of the program no longer works with the heightened
and persistent security Yahoo has employed for its groups. The program
currently uses a special "magic login URL" which includes the login
and pass in the string. Yahoo has blocked repeated use of this string
by displaying a password repeat and Turing code screen. The Turing
code screen is the one where the user must enter a warped text word
image's word in order to continue.
This has to be changed so that the program loads the login screen,
enters the login information, then once logged in, it proceeds to the
task or Yahoo Group that it is scheduled to perform. Once the task or
Group is finished, it should log out, and dispose of the cookie, as
usual, before proceeding to the next task.
This may sound like a lot, but it should not require more than 60
lines of short code to be added.
The program requires Borland C++ Builder 5 to compile, as well as
tgifImage external library for its internal image viewer.
Anyone with expertise in Internet Explorer scripting, and web
downloaders are welcome to work on this.
At this point, I simply do not care if the program has spyware
components added into it. I just need to get this program to work so I
can back up my Yahoo groups, a very long and tedious task when done
manually.
