Help files

The biggest reason I miss Word 2003 is that I could usually go to a knowledge
base, drill a few terms and get a specific answer. Or there were forums
outside of Microsoft that had answers.

Help for Word 2007 is much harder to find. Instead ay Microsoft there is
too much cutesy fluff, video demos of the obvious and an avalanche of stuff I
don't want or need on the support page. Searching the help files in Word
(on- or offline) is unbelievably unproductive.

I have yet to score an answer to very focused questions with a simple search
and I really, really hate not having that kind of control and information
access.

I am very sympathetic. The help on Word 2007 is by far the worst
I've seen on any major program.

What makes the situation even worse, is the Word 2007 help is vastly
inferior to that of prior Word versions.

I just can't understand how Microsoft could let this happen.

I fully agree that if you allow search online one mostly gets fluff
and junk.

I certainly agree. But other people have other opinions; see other newsgroup
threads on the subject.
