Help: Dell AIO 962 and Netgear PS121 USB print server

I have a Dell AIO 962 and Netgear PS121 print server.
They are both brand new.
I tested and verified that the printer works properly by directly connecting
it my PC (running XP home).
I tested and verified that the Ethernet port, where the printer server is
connected to, is working properly, too.
Afterward, I connected the print server to my home network and the printer
to the print server.

On Netgear's 'Print Server Setup Wizard,' the print server shows up with an
expected and reasonable IP address. However, when I click "next," after a
minute or so, it comes back with an error message "Network Busy, or Device
not found."

What is the root cause for this error?
I can not proceed until it is resolved.

In general, does a printer server (a relatively low/mid range) work with a
multi-function all-in-one printer?

Any help would be appreciated.

Usually, You will need to install a printer driver, and point it to a port
established when the print server was installed.
The exact name is dependent upon the print server and the printer network
support protocol.
Next, multifunction printers usually work only as a printer via a
printserver. An exception seems to be the multifunctions that have a built
in LAN port.

Dell 962 and printservers

Been fighting the same issue, with a trendnet wireless printserver, and the Dell 962. The printserver does not allow the Dell software to report how much ink is available, so it assumes they are empty, and aborts printing. Tried removing all the Dell software, including a system restore, and on machines the dell software was never installed on. If you use XP to install it as a network printer, and direct XP to the drivers folders in thier software, it still installs thier "ink monitor". Haven't had the time to check out the individual files in the folder, but opening the .ini files may give you a lead to the minimum drivers required, and no install the software, just the drivers.
Hope this helps. Dell said the only way you can network the 962 is with thier 3300 printserver, but I am sure thier is a work around. Sorry I couldn't give you a "fix".
