Help!!! Credentials Changing

G

gowens

I have a very frustrating issue with a laptop in our Firm. The domain
user credentials are changed when the user accesses other domain
resources (servers). It's not a windows/account issue: if the user logs
on to a different box and accesses the same remote domain server the
credentials remain unchanged and access is granted - it's just from his
laptop.

The credentials are always the being sent out as a domain user SQL
(non-attributed) account. I've spent 2 days trying to debug this - with
no progress. Each time the security event viewer on the target/remote
server shows the user credentials as the SQL user domain account.

I really don't want to rebuild the box - I can't garrantee that once
the same applications are put back on that the problem won't return (I
really want to know what might cause this).

Any help suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Check the stored credentials on that computer. Open Control Panel and go to
user accounts, select the user account, select advanced - manage passwords
and delete any entries. If the user is accessing a network share check to
see if there any mapped drives while logged on as that user and delete them
as one may have alternate persistent credentials. --- Steve
