Help - Click Play - gors back to Ready - Cannot play music

Help please,

Either from Downloads or from copying CD's to my hard-
drrive (all my media files are on my haed-drive),
sometimes when I click on an album then go to play all of
the tracks, the status jumps back to 'ready' and I cannot
play that album.

How do I play music/tracks when this happens?
