HELP - Can't open any reports

B

Brian

Hopefully someone can help me. I recently got a new
computer and so loaded everything from original CD's. This
included Microsoft Office Professional 2003. Then I
downloaded all of the updates from
windowsupdate.microsoft.com as well as
office.microsoft.com. Everything seems to work fine,
including my Access databases.

Now however, I find that I need to modify a report. And I
can't get into it. If I double-click it, nothing happens.
If I right click and click Print Preview, nothing happens.
If I right click and click Design View, nothing happens.
If I try to print a report from one of my forms, I get
Run-time error '2501': the OpenReport action was canceled.

This same database, a copy of which is shared across the
network, works fine on 10 other computers, so something
must be wrong with my new one.

Any ideas anyone?

I ran the "Repair" function through Add/Remove Programs.
It returned the message "Microsoft Office successfully
repaired". Unfortunately, I still have the same problem.

Also, I copied the database to another computer and it
works perfectly.

Before you attempt any re-install etc, make sure you have a default printer
designated in your Windows Control Panel. If you think you already have one,
unselect and reselect it.

Kudos! I have 6 printers installed on my computer. I
changed my default from my HP2300L to my Photo printer,
and everything came back to life. Of course, when I
changed back to my Laser, I got the same error. So I'll
try reinstalling the printer.

Thanks for your help!
